New Year's Resolutions?
We are 12 days into the New Year and I haven't even done my goals for the year yet! That is so unlike me. Usually the last few days of the year and the first few days of the New Year I am deep in reflections and goals and growth. But this year, I haven't felt like doing it. I actually think its a good sign of where I am. 2025 was a crazy year for me. I am ready to put that behind me. I feel like I stayed very present throughout and was constantly reflecting, learning, growing

2025: A Year in Review Through Tarot
A lot of people think Tarot is about looking forward, but I usually use it to check in on current energies. Today, one of the last days of 2025, I asked tarot to show me a card for each month for the past year so I could see my 2025 through the eyes of spirit. It was a really beautiful perspective for me. 2025, as most people know, was a really hard year for me. I made a decision to leave a very toxic work environment at a time the market was really rough. It took me way long

2025 Christmas Movie Roundup
I’ve actually had time to watch Christmas movies this year, so wanted to share three new ones (and one oldie) that have been my favorite this season that may not already be on your list. - The Family Man, with Nicholas Cage. I stumbled across this movie one night and was not expecting to love it as much as I did. From what I gather, my takeaways and viewpoint of this movie are very different than the average viewer. I personally resonated so much with his character,

My thoughts on Skinny Tok
I can't believe we are here again! I really actually thankfully cannot, because I have curated my instagram feed so well that I am not seeing skinny tok - all I am seeing is body positive people reacting to the bad trend of skinny tok. So, I am thankful for that. I posted the other day a body positive poem about how being obsessed with shrinking and staying small stops you from enjoying literally anything in your life and was absolutely gut wrenched when one of my friends who

Thanksgiving Round-Up: A New Side Dish MUST
This weekend I made a friendsgiving meal for the staff in my building and in my experimenting prepared a show stopping side dish that I recommend including in your Thanksgiving lineup this year. It was acorn squash stuffed shells. The squash and cheese mixture turned out SO luxurious and elegant and would be amazing in any Thanksgiving spread. I also made one of my long time favorite pies, a salted caramel pear pie. Both of these are such great fall flavors and are nice ways

I won't be home for Christmas...
Everyone says Chicago summers make the rest of the year worth it, but I personally fall in love with Chicago every Christmas season. It is so magical here and there is something that feels so nostalgic about being in the city. The city is decorated so beautifully, there are so many old school, cozy restaurants that actually get busier during the holiday season, and there are some really unique Chicago holiday traditions to experience. It's like there is something in the air,

What is happening in 2025?
2025 has been a crazy year for most people I know. It honestly feels like I have lived so many lives this year and that it has been way longer than a single year. It makes sense from a spiritual perspective. From a numerology standpoint, 2025 is a year 9. (2+0+2+5=9). Year 9s are the last number in numerology, so it is all about closing chapters, ending cycles, digging up things that no longer serve you. It can be a year (and was for me) to be forced to face what is no longer

Halloween: past life natties
I am a very spiritual person and have come to believe in past lives. I basically think the purpose of life is clearing karmic lessons and karmic ties with people. I think a lot about who I was in a past life and how those lives and those lessons still carry es over to today. This past year has been a really difficult year for me in my job. I was dealing with some difficult personalities who treated me poorly to my face, and as I ultimately learned, also did some not so cool s

Girls Trip to NYC
I just had the best trip to NYC with my bestie. We both love Hamilton and it is the 10 year anniversary, so Leslie Odom is back on Broadway as Aaron Burr. We planned a whole trip around seeing Hamilton and had the best trip. Wanted to share some must dos. We stayed at Lotte Hotel Palace in NYC. It is built into an old mansion so has some really beautiful elements. It was also in an amazing location - so close to tons of shopping, amazing restaurants, and the theatres. The roo

Friendsgiving for those who have a tight circle like me!
I love for my friendsgiving to be Thanksgiving-adjacent food and not the classics. I usually do a ham instead of turkey because I still want the fall flavors but I think friendsgiving is a good excuse to try foods that you don't normally eat on a traditional Thanksgiving and get more creative. Also, if you know me, I am really protective of my energy so usually only have one or two friends over when I am in the mood to cook. It's a great fit for someone who lives in the city

Bringing it Back to 1990s!
Hi guys! I love the idea of having all of my meals and recipes in one place and have tried TikTok and Instagram reels but felt like I was missing a lot, especially the story and love behind my meals. A la Carrie Bradshaw, I love sharing my thoughts via typing and decided to bring it back to the 1990s and go old school with a blog. I hope you enjoy following along. I am planning to mostly share my recipes, but being the multi-faceted human I am, I will also be sharing restaura
